Is Nuro private?

Last updated: August 22, 2026

Short answer: Nuro does not train AI on your recordings, does not sell them, and gives you a working export and a real account-deletion path. This page answers the specific questions people ask before trusting an app with their voice. For the complete, legally precise account of data flows and providers, read the full privacy policy.

Does Nuro train AI models on my recordings?

No. Nuro does not sell your recordings or transcripts, and does not use them to train its own AI models. Nuro uses third-party providers to transcribe and analyze entries, and asks for consent and discloses those providers before using AI features.

Is my data encrypted?

Connections are encrypted in transit, and Nuro’s storage provider encrypts data at rest. Entries are not end-to-end encrypted — Nuro’s service providers need to process the audio and text to provide transcription and AI features.

Can I delete everything?

Yes. Deleting your account schedules a server-owned deletion of every entry, recording, and your sign-in itself, with a 30-day recovery window — signing back in during that window cancels it. See the full steps.

Can I get my data out first?

Yes. Export builds one text file with every entry’s transcript, on your device, handed directly to the share sheet. It does not require an active subscription and does not change anything in your account. See the full steps.

Does Nuro track me for advertising?

Nuro sends a small number of explicit conversion events (such as a completed sign-up or a started trial) to measure whether marketing is working. Automatic event logging and advertiser-ID collection are disabled, and recordings, transcripts, and generated journal content are never included in those events.

Does Nuro read session replays or screen recordings of my usage?

No. Session replay is disabled in the current app. Product analytics are limited to coarse actions and states — not journal content.
